How does RTT® hypnosis work?

RTT®  Hypnotherapy is a pioneering therapy based on neuroscience, that offers fast, effective results. When in a state of hypnosis, therapist and client are working with the brain waves which are present during the REM phase of sleep. This phase is also similar to when you are daydreaming, engrossed in a movie or consciously practising mindfulness or meditation; therefore it is a perfect state to access the subconscious mind.  By rapidly rewiring the neural pathways of the brain, RTT®  replaces outdated belief systems and negative patterns of behaviour.

What does it feel like to be hypnotised?

You're always in control. Hypnotherapy isn't about being 'put under.' It's about being guided into a relaxed suggestible state where therapeutic work can happen. Different people experience different feelings. Some people describe it as a floating sensation, while others say it is like being in a meditative state; some may feel sleepy. Most people say they feel peaceful, relaxed and at ease. What is most important though, is how you feel isn’t an indicator of how effective it is. Regardless of what it feels like - it is working.  In fact, many people worry that they don’t ‘feel’ hypnotised. The good news is that depth of trance is not a deciding factor in success. You can be in hypnosis very lightly or very deeply; it works regardless.

Does hypnotherapy work online?

Yes, hypnotherapy can be effectively conducted over video conferencing platforms. Many hypnotherapists offer remote sessions, allowing clients to experience the benefits of hypnotherapy from the comfort of their own homes. As long as the client is in a quiet, comfortable environment with minimal distractions, online hypnotherapy is just as effective as in-person sessions.

How do I know this will work for me and my situation?

Before we work together, we can have a conversation over Zoom or by phone call. This call is free and is an opportunity to get to know me, ask any questions about your particular situation or the RTT® therapy and see if it feels like a good fit for us to work together. It's important to me that you feel comfortable, before we go ahead.

I'm worried I might not be able to be hypnotised. What happens if I cannot be hypnotised. I think I am too controlling to allow it to happen.

Some people do worry about this and find it difficult to relax. If this is the case, during the free consultation, if I feel this may be the case for you, I will provide a complementary pre-session audio for you to listen  to for approximately 7-10 days before the session which will put your mind at rest and allow you to reach your subconscious memories.

How will I notice the change?

Improvement or change happens 3 ways with RTT®. You can experience one, two or all of them:

-Immediate change that you notice straight away

-Cumulative change that steadily builds/increases

-Retroactive change, where one day, weeks or months down the line, you have to be reminded that you ever had the issue. You’ve been too busy feeling better to look out for your old symptoms or triggers.

I have a serious health condition. How could it stem from a random childhood event?

Our literal minds respond to the thoughts and pictures we create. Therefore, our mind will often create triggers, symptoms and habits because it believes it performs some kind of beneficial function for us. For example, an adolescent child who wishes they were not looked at by boys may develop severe acne or a weight issue so they do not receive this unwanted attention. With RTT®, we can discover when and where the thinking came from and reframe it, replacing the reasoning of a child with our now adult mind.  Similarly, health problems can occur for other sub-conscious reasons, though it is important to stress that you are not to blame for giving yourself any kind of illness.

Is there anyone you can't treat with hypnosis?

Unfortunately, hypnosis is not indicated for those suffering from epilepsy or any kind of psychosis (schizophrenia etc.)
